Now for those of you who joined us on the last tour you are not allowed to envy our unplanned visit below!! This was a quick treat from Helen as a reward for the awful weather we had in Burford this morning. We were all wet and sodden and very cold.....if you read here at this link: UK weather and at several news links like this one: Severe weather and flooding you will find out that the UK has had a month of rain in one day! We witnessed flooding and even heard of a tragic death....so as you can see it was quite dismal this morning with rain and fog. But this afternoon we were rewarded with a half hour of no rain and a quick visit to this garden...........
We were lucky to see the hedges being pruned....
and below is the "before" trim.......
and "after".....
Thankyou Helen...even when you can't control the weather you find ways to compensate for it.... fingers crossed the sun returns soon!
Glad you are back Michele, my morning coffee time. But while you were "off line", we had a fantastic pink weekend. Happy travelling. (I quite like the before trim hedge just as well)
ReplyDeleteThe "hedges" in that garden are amazing. Wonder if it is the gardeners creation or the owner?
ReplyDeleteWe too have had the most incredible rain in Yorkshire. We went to the Quilt Museum in York today and checked they had a copy of your book Michele and they did. Highlight was the York Minster. incredible. Roger found the Robert Thompson mouse for me. Not easy.
ReplyDeleteLove the hedges! and the screen (or wall panels?) up above - GORGEOUS!
