William Morris inspirations

Welcome back. Today is the beginning of the second William Morris tour so it is inevitable that I might be repeating the same day by day photos as I did for the last tour. So I have decided instead to focus on a "Design for the day".... inspiration that could be adapted for quilting, textiles or embroidery ......but how hard it is just finding ONE design!! So instead it will be my favourites that I think would be perfect for appliqué or embroidery (or even new fabrics!). So here goes for day one .......

Now for those of you who joined us on the last tour you are not allowed to envy our unplanned visit below!! This was a quick treat from Helen as a reward for the awful weather we had in Burford this morning. We were all wet and sodden and very cold.....if you read here at this link: UK weather and at several news links like this one: Severe weather and flooding you will find out that the UK has had a month of rain in one day! We witnessed flooding and even heard of a tragic death....so as you can see it was quite dismal this morning with rain and fog. But this afternoon we were rewarded with a half hour of no rain and a quick visit to this garden...........

(and Helen tells us these fish are worth 1,000 pounds each - that's about AU$1550 each!)
