Loving Oxford

We arrived in Oxford four nights ago but internet access hasn't been as easy - so here goes with an update. We are sitting on a coach travelling from London to Oxford where I have free WiFi access - very tricky balancing my computer on my lap and typing in a bumpy seat!. We have just visited some more William Morris sites today but I will leave that blog for a couple of days time. I will have to do a couple of blog entries now to cover all the photos just of Oxford - Kelmscott to follow! Oxford is simply stunning. The colleges have blown us away - just the history is enough and I want to have my life over again and do a fine arts degree here - maybe a scholarship as a mature age student??!! So enjoy some photos and info..........(and most colleges started in the 14th & 15th century!!)
Our amazing accommodation courtesy of Gwyneth - an Oxford quilter! Thanks Gwyneth X

Our first wander through Oxford....

The place that William Morris studied
Oxford is made up of 39 colleges which come under the umbrella of Oxford University
And we had an exclusive tour of one of them - Lincoln College. ('cos we knew someone!!)
The lawn is real!
.....who wouldn't want to study here??!!
The library entrance - Larry and Stuart

Kelmscott next post.........the visit was better than I could have dreamed!

  1. I was just there in May. There is so much to see in Oxford. Let alone all the shopping. I am glad you are having a great trip. Kelmscott was unique it made me feel back in another time. We must have had a very similar journey.
