Good Morning Oxford

Yes we have arrived in the UK! It is such a long, long way to get here and part way through our second long flight yesterday Larry and I were saying "this is the last time"!!! But once you get to your destination you realise how lucky you are that you can experience these wonderful memories. There are so many who can't and one special friend will be appearing throughout our journey.....you will see Vicki popping up in places we think she would like (our fingers are crossed that she will one day). For those of you who don't know.......the most direct route takes up to 22 hours from home with just over 7 hours to Singapore and then another 13 and a half hours to London.. So first stop at Changi airport Singapore.........and this was Vicki's 30th wedding anniversary shot amongst the orchids!

We decided to break the journey and sleep overnight......the hotel was amazing as you can see below.......

We landed in London and then had an hour and half trip on the bus to Oxford. It was pouring with rain and we were a sight trying to push bags over cobblestones while trying to hold an umbrella, but after a good night's sleep this is the view we woke up to from our room.....and yes it is four long and narrow flights of stairs to the top room where we are staying!!

I have already taken over 200 photos and it is only day one....so I will try to do highlights with more tomorrow. On the way to the Ashmolean Museum we recalled why this is one of our most favourite places in the UK......

And then we found this room at the Ashmolean! Most images have the explanation followed by the painting.......

The Ashmolean is full of breathtaking pieces. I will share more tomorrow but just a little taste......

It's almost like Larry is thinking...could I tackle one this big?!

And finally some more of the magic of Oxford with Vicki and more..............

More tomorrow.....
