Antique quilts overload

Now I am warning any of you who are not interested in antique quilts to stop reading now! We had four and half amazing hours at Claverton Manor where there is an incredible collection of American history including antique quilts!
There is so much to see from Indian textiles to quaker stitcheries. I took over 300 photos in the Museum but for now I am going to concentrate on the quilts. We came 16 years ago and you were not allowed to take photos and there were only about a dozen quilts on show. So what a treat it was to see them hanging like this.........

I have taken an image of the information and then an overall view with some close-ups. I was rather intrigued with this first quilt as clearly the blocks were not 5 inches! Enjoy......

A little sample of the rooms..........

All of a sudden two and half hours had passed so we thought it was time Vicki joined us for lunch.........
 and this was the view.......

and then there was more..........the folk art room......
this is a rare example of a cigar ribbons quilt........

Back in the city of Bath we walked over the river .....
and then looked back and realised the bridge was like one in Florence....a bridge of shops........
So we are back in the hotel (and still coughing) but enjoying every minute
