Last day in London

Well it is Sunday afternoon and our last day in the UK. We are waiting for a shuttle bus to take us to the airport hotel where we will sleep the night before the flight to Singapore tomorrow. We plan to have a couple of nights in Singapore to get over the jet-lag and then have the midnight fight home on Thursday night. So yesterday we decided to take in a few more London sights and we are thankful we did that yesterday as it has been bucketing down with rain all day today! We did venture out in the rain though to visit the fascinating Chelsea Physic Garden but I will blog about that later tonight. So yesterday's sights included many iconic London places.......
Last days in London for Vicki too.....
 Supreme Court......

Big Ben and we timed it well to hear the midday chimes.....just magnificent........
Houses of Parliament.........

A sign of the times below............

 St Paul's........

And even a gate to commemorate the year I was born!
 Across the Millennium bridge............
 To see the Globe theatre......

An interesting mode of transport ......
and then later we saw it in action.........

The Tower bridge..........

and a walk around the Tower. The queues were very long to go in but we had done it 10 years ago ........

We were very tired and weary after another 10km walk so we decided to get the underground back to the hotel.......

and we didn't realise that a few doors away from our hotel was this bit of history as well..............
More of our last day later

  2. Did you know Michele that the clock tower in not called Big Ben. It's name is Elizabeth Tower and the actual bell inside the tower is Big Ben. Something we did not know but learnt on one of the red sight seeing buses.
Loved look at London in your photo's reminding me of our trip last year. See you soon.
