Love is enough

Is Love enough? William Morris wrote a poem  'Love is Enough' and his daughter May recorded that it was in November 1872 "that it appeared" and this is the first verse.........

Love is enough: though the World be a-waning,
And the woods have no voice but the voice of complaining,
Though the sky be too dark for dim eyes to discover
The gold-cups and daisies fair blooming thereunder,
Though the hills be held shadows, and the sea a dark wonder
And this day draw a veil over all deeds pass'd over,
Yet their hands shall not tremble, their feet shall not falter;
The void shall not weary, the fear shall not alter
These lips and these eyes of the loved and the lover.

You can read more of May's words in this online version of her father's prose by clicking HERE. Even H&M capitalised on his poem with their recent fashion line......
I read of an opinion somewhere that perhaps love isn't enough......I am sure compatibility is essential and our Bureau of Statistics tells us that sadly one in three marriages end in divorce. But the Beatles still claimed that love is enough in their iconic song 'All you need is love'......
So it would seem we are blessed and I feel so lucky that I found the love of my life 43 years ago. We celebrated our 41st wedding anniversary on Monday and decided to visit the autumn colours of Mt Lofty Botanic Gardens. It was a cool day but an invigorating walk despite the knees seizing up going down a steep hill! The colours have almost gone but it is our favourite time of year.....

We finished our day with a celebratory drink at the award winning Crafers Hotel that also happens to use a bit of Morris art in their logo.........

They have a small room decorated in Morris's Compton wallpaper but it was really John Henry Dearle who drew the design for Morris. We sat in front of a roaring fire and I had the most wonderful local gin.......

On Friday we shared a little more love at Emily's workplace for the annual Biggest Morning Tea raising funds for the Cancer Council and Emily was thrilled that she raised over $1,600! Brett baked lots of sweet goodies and Emily made the marshmallow cups and the entire spread was well received.......
I did a platter of savouries.......
and donated some of my hand stitched goodies for the raffle........
including some of those rope bowls....
Emily is amazing how she has managed this event for so many years on her day off from full time nursing. Someone managed to snap this image of Emily and myself chatting to the hospital's Director of Nursing and if you look carefully you will see little Maisie hugging my legs!!.......
So wouldn't it be nice if there was a lot more love in the world? So I am sending some of it to you today and every day x

I recently purchased your Elegance Sampler pattern from The Patchwork Angel. I think I only received part of it. It had a photo of the quilt, a pdf with instructions and a pdf of the layout of the blocks - however there were no patterns pieces to create the 18 1/2" blocks. I tried enlarging the layout sheets. However, this made the blocks too big. I understand that the patterns are repeated 4 times for each block - but the sheets I have are not the correct size.
Please help - I love your work and would like to make more of them if possible.
    Thanks
