Morris Tour catch-up continues

Monday October 3rd……
Our day started at Beckford Silk where many major museums have their scarves made. Larry and I decided to sit quietly outside as I wasn't feeling the best but I know all our companions had a wonderful time learning the process of screen printing to hand stitching the edges……and little did we know how significant this visit was - news of that when I post about our final night!…….

A short drive later where we had a memorable time viewing the William Morris stained glass windows at All Saints Selsley……….

The windows in this church were one of William Morris's first commissions and some windows reflect self portraits of the designers including Morris, Edward Burne-Jones and Rossetti……...

The ladies of the church have come to love our visits and we are served the most delicious home baked lunch in the church…. complete with Morris cloths……..
After lunch we visited Sudeley Castle - the home of Catherine Parr, the last of the six wives of Henry V111……..

Among the displays are many old embroideries dating back to the 1600's…….

Crewel work curtains from the 1800's…….

I thought of you here Penny and Paul!……..

Another stroll to the village of Winchcombe for a magnificent dinner in fine style….the only way Helen knows!……...

More soon……..I am sure I will have time to do that while waiting for flights at Heathrow and Doha so till then x
