and this table cover was named "Australia" for the same reason in recognition of the lucrative Barr Smith clients. After I took this photo (all on my phone as I had left my camera on the bus!), I noticed that our group is in the reflection as they were helping themselves to our beautiful gallery lunch......
Again the reflections detract from the rich silk embroidery........
One of my very favourite pieces.........
The historic Mortlock Library was opened in 1884 and has been named in the top 20 most beautiful libraries of the world alongside The Bodleian in Oxford and Trinity College Dublin........
Adelaide Arcade all dressed for Christmas........
So we have some more exciting days ahead this week! Now you might think you have seen these images before but I am doing them again as I deleted my last post. The news of local tours was really for locals only. I am so sorry but there are of course the current tours for others HERE! I wanted these images for my records in memory of special days with the little people......
I will leave you with these inspirational words I found on a wall near the hotel where the Morris group is staying x
Michele may I add my name to the local tour for locals. Karen Kleinlagel of Joslin in Adelaide.

ReplyDeleteWhat astonishingly beautiful embroideries. Your roses are magnificent.
ReplyDeleteLove the photos Michele, I must see the Mortlock library next time I am in Adelaide, I have never heard of it. My favourite Morris photo was that gorgeous pattern on the chair.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos Michele, we are very lucky to have these William Morris collections in Adelaide foe us all to enjoy at any time. The children are having a great time playing with you as well in the playground, looks like a lot of fun. Thanks again for sharing. Take care, 😀😀
