Back in Paradise
Here we are back on beautiful Norfolk Island! It has been two years since we were here but it feels much shorter and it is certainly wonderful to be back. Today we became tourists for the day and this is what greeted us from our window this morning........
Our morning included some of these restful views...........
I am spending the next four days stitching with 26 other quilters from around Australia and New Zealand and the venue once again is the hall beside the historic St Barnabas chapel. The bonus is that this chapel has some pearl shell carvings on the pews and of course the magnificent William Morris and Burne-Jones stained glass windows............
This row of Moreton Bay trees are in Larry's words....."very Lord of the Rings like".............
This afternoon we made the short drive to the World Heritage site of Kingston and while we were there we came across a group in traditional Norfolk dress being photographed so I took the opportunity as well............
There is still evidence of some discontent in relation to the Australian reform from two years ago.......
I'll be in touch again with some more stories and pictures in a day or so..........
love love this island - so very pretty - those roots from the trees do look like something from Lord of the Rings - thanks for taking time to share. I remember when you shared photos from here a couple years ago - everything is so gorgeous you are lucky to be there for sure
