and a quick snap of the ferns.....everything is so green.......
So back to the show......unfortunately I didn't have permission to take photos of the quilts so instead a little inspiration that I could capture. This is Christine - a Wellington quilter who is making a very large quilt made up of 1/4inch hexagons.....what patience!.......
and Jill who was in one of my classes at the Taupo Symposium four years ago. Jill was on a quilting retreat with friends this weekend but decided she just had to leave for a few hours to bring in her almost completed table runner for me to see.......thankyou so much Jill - it is looking gorgeous.......
So I am sorry there isn't more of the quilts on display that I could share. Instead we will think of family as tomorrow is Father's Day and Larry is here with me. Emily and Brett took their little family for a quick trip to Sydney last weekend.........
Emily shared some photos on Facebook of the Easter egg that Maisie found in the pantry and Beau at the shops standing under the scanner to see how much he might cost!!........
Beau has been at school for just two terms and as a five year old I think this is amazing.......
The forecast tomorrow is for another day of rain and chill (not going above 10C), but we will get out and see some sights. Tomorrow night will be very special as we received a lovely dinner invitation from Anne Scott (the editor of New Zealand Quilter magazine) and her husband who was apparently making pate last night! I've communicated with Anne over the years by email so it was lovely to finally meet her in person. I can't wait to see her book shop either - that is Monday's adventure but for now this is her website - Minerva. So I will share more soon x
Congrats to Sophie and Tim and of course to the grandparents! The cold is returning here for the next few days also. Enjoy your travels. xx

ReplyDeleteSuch happy news for your family. Looking forward to saying hello to you on Thursday in Hamilton. Hope the weather picks up soon - we are all over it as well.
ReplyDeleteLooks like that penguin pattern is going to be very well timed! Perhaps you had better buy a Happy Feet DVD instead!
ReplyDeleteIt was so lovely to meet you in person, I have always admired your work & all the skill you have put in to creating such wonderful projects
ReplyDeleteI was so sorry to hear of your health issues & do hope that the medical fraternity will be able to alleviate the pain you said you suffer daily
Thank you again & safe travels
