Sunshine

At long last we have had a burst of sunshine but along with that comes the continued sniffles of Spring. I can't seem to shake the ache in my bones and especially the sinuses. Even little Wade can't shake off the wheezing and sniffles either. I am sure the abundant blooms that Spring brings is the cause of it all but the views from the front door are lovely and have also come quite suddenly........

Even the view from my bedroom window each morning is lovely. This is the Spirea shrub commonly known as Bridal Wreath........
And how appropriate to be speaking of bridal wreath as we enjoyed a wedding yesterday. Alice is the daughter of a friend of over 50 years and the weather was perfect for the outdoor ceremony. I haven't permission to share personal images so instead a few snippets. The venue was gorgeous.......

Detail of the mother of the bride's dress and the bride and groom's dog who wore the bride's great grandfather's bow tie that he wore on his wedding day.........
Larry wore his William Morris silk tie (of course!) and I finally wore a handcrafted pearl and ribbon choker that I bought in the gift shop at Blackwell, the Arts and Crafts House in the Lake District two years ago......
Dinner was at the Royal Adelaide Golf Club and in the distance you can see the bridal party having photos taken........
Meanwhile we played games....and even a bit of golf!!.........
The table centre flowers were all arranged by family and it was touching to have rosemary on our place setting to remember those who couldn't be there........
It was a wonderful celebration and many of us were rather weary the next day as we wound our clocks forward one hour for daylight saving.....
Meanwhile the family bring us much joy. It is school holidays at the moment so the two older ones are coming for a sleep over later today and little Wade will join us all tomorrow.......(thanks to the family for the happy images).......

More sunshine and fun soon. Hope the world is treating you well wherever you are x

  2. Your roses are gorgeous. Yes, the sniffles are a bane here also in Spring. Thanks for sharing,
