Our time in Houston has continued and today we explored some amazing art in the Museum precinct. First of all a visit to the Houston Museum of Fine Arts and what an incredible place it is. Art including paintings, sculptures, textiles, jewellery, furniture, stained glass and all they way from the Byzantine and Egyptian era to current art. Art from Korea, Japan, India and China and more ........... and amazing modern unusual installations as well. The space is incredible and one of the best galleries we think we have ever seen. Once again the camera worked overtime and I took over 200 photos. So here are just a few (except it seems like there are way too many just in this post!!).....
Hmmmm...think Mr Morris might have been inspired by this?.........
Now modern art is not generally on my list.....but some in here left me mesmerised........
I stood spellbound by this work of art for about 10 minutes. I could do with this at home for meditating - the wires and weights slowly raise and lower to create patterns on the wall - just wonderful........
This was a welcome rest stop - a light show on the wall as the tree swayed in the breeze and lost it's leaves.......
Check out how old this!!!!......
This is the underground tunnel linking two wings of the museum which is an art work in lights - I wasn't allowed to photograph it - instead this is an image from the brochure........
We then walked a little further to a very modern museum........
Even an interesting entrance which you could walk right past............
Thanks so much for sharing and for your comments. I might have a blog free day tomorrow. So take care where-ever you are and hugs to everyone at home as well X
