Closer to home we take a detour on our local Morris tours to visit secrets in the hills.......
And just a few minutes from home we often take a detour for some time out walking along the coast this time watching some kite flyers......
And along the way looking for a coffee stop we found these beauties.......
Taking detours with this little man is always a joy and this time it was to a new adventure playground......
I am about to take a major detour of a different kind. The future is unknown but it will involve some serious treatment for several months. Facing one's mortality is always confronting and losing my hair even more so! But I will do my very best to beat this beast with love and support around me. I've already discovered what friendship and support means with lots of lovely flowers, phone calls and emails........
It has been very difficult letting people know but I felt that with some knowing and some not that it was time to "go public". Whilst I have had to cancel several events I will still keep the mind busy (and body if it allows!), into stitching and designing new work. So till next time I hope you are safe and well. We are especially thinking of those across the border in Victoria as they face another severe lockdown with this second wave of Covid. Take care all x
Oh Michelle, as you walk these detours in life, please know you will be in my prayers xx
ReplyDeleteMichele you will continue to be an inspiration to all of us and with your strength and positive attitude you will get through this, god bless you and know your in our prayers
ReplyDeleteOh my dear I’ll be thinking of you, my sister-in-law did the same journey four years ago and I was privileged to be by her side. Today we go to the gym together twice a week. She’s been told by her oncologist that she has to be on Tamoxifen for another 2-5 years. So as I finish this I wish you good luck on your journey and be aware there are many that love and respect you, take care

ReplyDeleteHi Michele, life tends to spin us around and we never quite know where we will stop. ReplyDeleteAdding my prayers to the lovely flowers you have received. Detour is perfect way to describe the coming journey. If your mind wants to just "veg out" let it know that your body is going after the bad cells. What I did was fold all my stash neat and tidy around my ruler..... in the end the shelves looked great and I had done something "quilty". Thank you for letting us know.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear about your "detour". I wish you the best in the coming months. I always enjoy reading your blog and will be thinking of you in the months ahead. A fan from Canada.
ReplyDeleteOh Michele. So sorry to hear this sad news but know you will confront it all with your great attitude to life. Thinking of you.
ReplyDeleteSending best wishes for positive outcomes. A small bit of advice for your self, Larry and your support crew - ask all the questions (write them down if you need to) including the hard ones, read the fine print and when your not sure ask for second opinions, ask for more / different tests, and ask more questions. When your the patient you need a support crew because you get overloaded and just say yes or dont have the energy to ask why. Having been a member of a support crew I learned that being an advocate is difficult but can make a big difference. Knowledge is power, power to make the right decisions and helps you feel empowered to win the good fight.
ReplyDeleteWe too are a detour with husband Phillip but second time for him but know we get though this with support of family and friends
ReplyDeleteA year of so many unplanned detours! I will be keeping you in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteAlexandra Amon
Sending wishes for all the best for you and your family.
