So why this blog post title of "Showing Off" you might ask? One day when we had Wade we went for a long walk at Glenelg - the place we will be staying on the William Morris in Adelaide Tours. So while I didn't have my camera with me my mobile phone captured some of it.......so I would like to "Show Off" this part of our city to you. The walk is just a stone's throw from where we will be staying......
In the distance before the row of trees you can just see the hotel.......
The airport is only 15 minutes away as the planes head to mysterious destinations.......
The day we were there the junior surf lifesavers were setting up.........even for under 6'ers.....
And another glimpse of the hotel ahead and then a walk out on the jetty to look back to it............
Beside the jetty there is the Moseley Beach Club where many were relaxing with a cocktail or two........
The hotel is right on the foreshore and while we were there we saw a dog show and a wedding being set up.........
There are historical buildings nearby and loads of cafes and places to spend money including our famous Haighs Chocolates!!......
and the tram is at the front door to take you to the city centre too...........
And you might even catch some of this as we did!.........
I am so looking forward to welcoming you all and I know we will have a wonderful week together. Other events at home included Beau turning six and his Mum Emily turning 36....how those years have flown......
I've made a home-made trellis for the new sweet peas to climb........
we've had honey eaters and lorikeets visit while feasting on the peaches next door........
and of course a bit of this.......
And I am still trying to complete the quilting on the Norfolk Island quilt! And the reverse side is a quilt in itself too.............
So I will conclude with some more of my favourite 'happiness is' quotes from the calendar these past two weeks........I love doing this.....
and yes, yes and yes!.......
and our William Morris rose from yesterday morning...........
And best of all the smiles that have just started. This came from Sophie on the phone one morning and it simply said....."Good morning Nanna" (and Happy on his top too!)........it sure melts one's heart. I hope all is well and we will chat again soon x
Love seeing that Bernina logo.....still the best brand machine in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteThat's a million dollar smile on Wade, just melts my heart.
ReplyDeletesuch a big smile must have made his mom happy! it looks like little Wade is developing and growing. Your hotel area you picked out for the Morris project looks like a great place and with the trolley to get back and forth gives one a chance to see new things and places to shop. Love how the quilting is looking - a lot of work for sure. Thanks for sharing all the photos - always love seeing another part of the country
ReplyDeleteIts the small things in life that make you truly happy - a smile from your sweet grandson, truely beautiful way to start the day!
ReplyDeleteYour Glenelg looks and sounds like such a fabulous destination...the beach and that hotel. I'm sure everyone will have a fabulous time.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, how sweet are those grandchildren...growing and also Little Wade now looking so healthy and himself. Love the grandpa photos, too. Happy indeed!
Thanks for sharing all your news with us Michele, you will love staying at the Grand right in the foreshore, lots of shops and pleasant walks in your free time.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos once again especially a very special baby being cuddled by Grandpa, and your other little ones are just beautiful.
Love your William Morris rose, we might see some photos of the sweet peas when they flower.
Good to hear from you. Love from Jean xx😍😍
