First of all a heartfelt thankyou for all your lovely messages and emails....I am so sorry that I can't email direct to some of you via the blog messages - something to do with Google settings so I am sorry. But please know how much we have all appreciated them. Little Wade is one week old today but Sophie reminded us he wasn't actually due for another 10 weeks...but onwards and upwards and so far he is doing well. We popped in for a visit this afternoon and it was wonderful to see him having cuddles. This first image is with Larry's hand.....
A special moment between Wade and his Poppa............

ReplyDeletebeautiful - the tiny little hand with the bigger hand and your daughter with the baby - so sweet - he looks so tiny now but eventually he will grow to be a big strong boy. thinking of you and the family and good thoughts being sent for little Wade - amazing the medical technology now to help these tiny babies grow strong
ReplyDeletePraise, God - he has made it to his first stage - one week! Will continue with prayers for all of you. Has he gained weight? So precious and so good to see the calm on Sophie's face.
ReplyDeleteDear Michele. I've been thinking about you a lot, but like you, I had trouble posting a comment on your blog from my iPad. Anyway, now I know why you hadn't posted in a while. I do hope you're new grandson will be fine. We're lucky to live in countries with excellent free health care. I'm sure he'll get the very best care available. Lots of love to you and your whole family.
ReplyDeleteBless his heart. Today's technology is truly something to be thankful for. My poor mother lost two babies to prematurity before I was born, 53 years ago. I was also born prematurely, and I can remember her telling me that I looked "like a plucked chicken". Even though she was a nurse, I think she was quite shocked to see her baby so tiny and frail, but a wise neonate nurse advised her to wait a few weeks until I was closer to my due date, that she'd be surprised at how much I would have grown by then. I can still remember the relief in my mom's voice every time she would tell this story, as if she was amazed all over again that it came true and her scrawny baby plumped up a wee bit and, more importantly, grew stronger and eventually thrived. That was decades ago. The care your Wade is receiving now is so much better but I think the underlying truth is the same. When his frailty is frightening, remember to give him time to catch up to the calendar. xxx Beth in Oregon
ReplyDeleteP.S. I'm sure the NICU nurses have success stories and photos they can share with you. One of my dearest friends works in the NICU and she loves to hear about how her babies have grown
bless his little heart...continuing to keep you all in my thoughts.

ReplyDeleteHow are Wade and Sophie doing now at the 2 1/2 week benchmark. I pray for them daily. You take it easy, too, Michele. Gentle hugs.
