For you Emily - but sorry no Betty Boop nurses!
The guy inside this costume was amazing - so funny and sounded just like Eddie Murphy in 'Shrek'.........
Below is the "fake city" that has been used in numerous movies.........
The sets look incredibly real but most are just facades..........
This was the new King Kong experience. We donned 3D glasses and the dinosaurs were incredible and felt like they were coming straight for you.... we got a bit wet too!!
I did get a couple of shots but sorry - no 3D without the glasses......
Cars from 'Back to the Future', 'Fast and Furious' and others.......
And a flood in literally 3 seconds..........
Building new sets.........
This train station certainly scared us....a train "crashed" into us in seconds...missed a good photo though!
And then a flood the other side of our carriage.........
A good part of the "Jaws" movie was filmed here in this little lake....Larry was a bit disappointed!!
I never really got into 'Desperate Housewives'......but for those of you who did - here is the real set of Wisteria Lane...........
The life sized plane crash from 'War of the Worlds' - very realistic and quite eerie.......
This is the only ride we had planned to do......
.....but then we read the warnings below (and this was supposed to be a mild ride!). Sadly I had to tick 3 boxes so no rides for us :-(
The lower level is 4 or 5 long escalator rides (can't quite remember!)..........
A bit more for you Sophie........
And while the tourists are doing their thing there are real movies and TV series going on every day......
A few girls from home..........
We are now very ready for home - but not the long flight! Tomorrow night we have a 15 hour flight to Sydney - then a 6 hour wait for the next flight and then 2 more hours and finally home. Somewhere across the Pacific we lose a whole day as well!
We have been away for almost 6 months, apart from 12 days home after our 5,000km drive before flying to the UK!! So the things we have missed most are simple really......apart from the obvious family and friends, it is toast and Vegemite, steamed veggies and a good cup of tea. We are sick of eating out (that probably won't last long!!). So it is definitely time to catch up with friends and appreciate having family close by...lots of overdue hugs due with them all and especially cuddles with Beau.
So as we say farewell I would like to say a wam hello once again to the New Jersey girls - I know you are still suffering....may it be over for you soon.
So until my next post from home (after we have caught up on some sleep!)....take care wherever you are and see you at home soon!

ReplyDeleteTravel safely on your voyage home.
I have enjoyed your posts of your travels - almost six months of living out of a suitcase, hotels, and eating out does get tiresome doesn't it.
ReplyDeleteI have loved every post and photo. Thank you for the time and effort you made to let us in your fantastic trip. Travel safe and love that Beau. What is Vegemite anyway? Your friend in Texas, Margaret
