Last day in the UK

The time has almost come to say farewell to the UK. Everyone from the tour disappeared to different parts of the globe in a just a blink and Larry and I were left feeling like a part of the hotel furniture once again! The staff at Dormy House have been amazing and we were told we are the longest guests to have ever stayed here in one visit.....26th night tonight.....and I think they have finally worked out how Australians 'click' - pity they don't have Vegemite on the breakfast menu (maybe next year when we return!). So some final glimpses of our home for the past 4 weeks and what we got up to today...... The leaves have changed colours just in the last week.........
Views as you walk around the rear of the hotel which backs onto the Broadway golf course......

The fresh flower arrangements throughout the reception areas are always spectacular and they seem to change every few days...........always intriguing trying to work out what flowers they are as well.....long stems of pussy willow in this vase........we don't see that in Australia!
There is even a nook with Morris curtains.........
For the last 2 weeks we had a room change and this was our view right over the golf course.......
We did plan on going to Cheltenham today but decided that the taxi fare was probably stretching the budget, so instead we visited Moreton-in-Marsh where we had a few relaxing hours.......

A long trip from our Glenelg!......

And a very last splurge even though the jeans are stretched to the limit! The tea and clotted cream is very British and they do it so well here......
and check out the spoon standing in that cream!!!

So farewell to the UK as we remember the wonderful experience of sharing William Morris in this beautiful part of England - the  Cotswolds......
Our charming and ever patient tour leader Helen above......
and the first tour group above and below which we had to take two photos of as a few members disappeared at the crucial moment!
And group two below....thanks everyone for coming and for making it such a great success

  1. I have so enjoyed the posts for these tours. Thank you for making us a part of the experience. PS: it gets harder and harder to leave a comment trying to prove I'm not a robot - tired old eyes I'm afraid.
