What matters

While current affairs are full of unhappy stories, political unrest, world starvation etc, etc one can forget about matters close to the heart. We are experiencing some hot weather at the moment and it was tonight while I was watering that these images made me happy.........a hydrangea starting to bloom, one of our first patio limes and our very first snow pea........

Of course little Wade is consuming our thoughts at the moment and he is already three weeks and two days old!  His last weight reached 1355gms and he is thankfully making slow and steady progress......

Emily had planned a baby shower for Sophie on Sunday and between them they decided to still go ahead. I cannot imagine how hard that must have been for Sophie especially sharing the day with pregnant friends and their babies but she did well and it was a lovely celebration.........

Maisie still insists that little Wade will be coming home to her house very soon where she is waiting to care for him....as she told me all this she had her arms in a rocking position.......such a dear little girl and one wonders if she might be a third generation nurse.....she is certainly a natural........
She also showed me where she likes to hide her treasures under her bed.......

Emily had been very busy stitching all sorts of personal items for Wade so I am glad my late nights sewing have rubbed off (!!).......

It was lovely to have photos of Wade with us on the day......

but there was way too much delicious afternoon tea.......

Emily had set up various activity stations including biscuit decorating, painting baby clothes, a book to write memories and a box of nappies for writing messages to Tim and Sophie......

Sophie was pretty exhausted by the end of the day so she found a quiet place where Beau and Maisie snuggled up with her.......they sure do matter to all of us ❤

  1. Precious pictures, memories that will never be forgotten. That is what really matters. With things crumbling around us, God's love, family, and friends.

  2. Love of family will help them get through this. Watching Wade slowly gain weight and eventually be able to leave the hospital they will look back at this in the photos and be amazed at how little he was. What a beautiful baby shower - every thing so pretty

  4. A lovely post, Michele, showing Wade's progress. The support of family and friends are so important while facing these challenges and I love to see Beau and Maisie growing into such special little ones. Hugs and prayers for Wade's continued progress. Xx
