Workshop day

Today was workshop day with yours truly…….a day to relax and recharge the batteries with a bit of fun thrown in. The small project I designed was based on detail of the Aphrodite  embroidered hanging at Red House…….

We had a wonderful conservatory room right on the edge of the Thames with full sun flooding in…..

Those of you who have experienced a Whitecroft tour know how Helen likes to give people life long memories full of secret surprises, way too much food and lots of laughs. The gifts as usual are well received and this year was no exception. Like children at a party the unwrapping and squeals are such a delight……..

The package today included two mugs   - one says I'D RATHER BE ON A WHITECROFT TOUR and the other I'D RATHER BE QUILTING WITH MICHELE!! Thanks Penny for the photo below and Helen for the thoughtful gifts……...
On our trip to the Festival of Quilts one of our group purchased a wonderful padded embroidery frame and part of it included a bag full of sand - way too heavy to carry home so with style we escorted her down to the river so she could dispose of the sand in the Thames. But there was a little bit of mischief and mayhem as the charade of tipping Grandpa's Ashes in the river took place! What a hoot with onlookers quite worried  especially a couple of young girls who could not stop staring…………
Margaret played it well with her sad face…….

Oh the fun of being on tour with Helen! (And no disrespect to those of you who have done this in real life - I too scattered my late father's ashes out to sea and we still managed to have a laugh)
